Let the blogging begin...

Being a mother, wife, and friend that works full time can be down right difficult.  There are times I would really like to pull my hair out, which would not be good due to one of my many ideas of how to save time in the morning my hair is quite short!  Having a large family is something I didn't experience directly as a child only having a brother, but loved hearing the stories from my grandmother of what it was like raising nine kids.  Ironically my husband is an only child, so the antics of a large family are somewhat foreign to him having only experienced the life of a large family during the time he spent with his close friend that had three siblings.

We are what society calls a blended family, I have three boys ages 10, 12, and 14 from a previous marriage and my husband has two girls ages 9 and 14.  Most people who meet us make references to the Brady Bunch, and they are not to far off.  I often wish I had my own Alice who could handle our house work or even just the laundry.  Living the life of a modern Brady Bunch has many more challenges brought on by technology and outside influences such as TV and video games.  To make things even more interesting we also have three dogs, so you know there is never a dull moment at our house.

You are probably reading this thinking, okay this mom is crazy!  She has enough to balance on a daily basis why is she spending time on the computer blogging?  That is a very good question, I am asking myself the same thing at this very moment.  The answer is simple, with any family there are challenges... there are good times and times that we wonder, "why me?"   Everyone always told me as my kids got older it would get easier.  Although certain things get easier, such as being able to leave the house on time or making a last minute decision to spend the day hiking.  I find as my children get older they need their parents even more, just in a different way.  Daily schedules get more complicated, and forgetting where to pick up the kids is a definite possibility.  I think blogging will give me a creative outlet and will allow me to share my life lessons, giving you a peak into the life of the Working Mommy + Five!
